Do I need approval to take the NASCLA exam?

No, but you must register with PSI Exam Services to take the exam.

I’ve heard by passing this test I will be licensed in multiple states, is this true?

By passing the NASCLA Accredited Exam you waive the need to pass the Trade Exam in certain states. Right now those states are Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virgin Islands, West Virginia. You will still need to meet any other license requirements held by that state (this includes financial requirements and Business Law Exams).

If I fail the exam is there a waiting period to retake the exam?

No, you can retake the exam immediately. You must pay the $100 testing fee each time you take the exam.

How do I use my results to get licensed in an accepting state?

Once you have passed the exam your results will be entered into the NASCLA NED (National Exam Database ). You can sign up for a NED account at NASCLA.org. You can then apply for your license with an accepting state, filling out the examination waiver form and transfer your exam results from NED.
